I hope my email finds you well.
I graduated recently from EDHEC Business School with a Grands École master in Finance. I have done a summer internship in Investment Banking at Barclays in 2017 along with more than 12 months internships in different banking divisions including corporate banking that I particularly enjoyed. I recently applied for the Investment Banking role at Citi that I’m highly interested in especially that I had in 2015 a spring program at Citi that I enjoyed but I’m a bit concerned as I don’t know if I can be considered without having done a summer program at Citi before and also I believe that I applied a bit late as the program starts in July so I was wondering if you think that with my experience I can potentially be a good fit for the program ?
Many thanks and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
You seem to have sufficient experience already in investment banking through your various internships that you could potentially be a good fit. However, that is not to say that people with no prior investment banking experience would not be considered - ultimately at analyst level we look to hire a set of qualities rather than a level of experience. The fact that you didn't do a summer programme at Citi is irrelevant. Indeed many new analysts have not done a Citi summer programme.
All the best with your application.
Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. It is really reassuring to know that we still have a chance to be considered without going through the summer program. I’m looking forward to get an update on my application and hope to be considered for this role.
Many thanks again for coming back to me and looking forward to speaking to you soon.
